CARET - hoax or not?

CARET sits in a genuinely contested middle zone: the forensic case against it is serious and specific, but the programme it allegedly documents — a civilian contractor interface with recovered non-human technology — is structurally identical to programmes described independently by credentialed whistleblowers who had no exposure to the 2007 internet release. The documents may be fabricated while the underlying programme could still be real. The 2026 TV revival has muddied the waters further by circulating degraded recreations, not the 2007 originals.

Evidence

  • The CARET package — a Q4-86 Research Report and companion drone photographs — appeared online in June 2007, attributed to an anonymous 'Isaac' claiming employment at a Palo Alto laboratory tasked with reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology for commercial applications.
  • Artist Margaret Gel's account — that her visual work was incorporated into the CARET files without authorisation — adds a specific provenance problem the pro-CARET camp has never answered.
  • The 2026 television resurgence, examined by Singhfinity (July 2026), introduced a further complication: the collage now circulating is headed Q4-85, while the authentic 2007 documents carried Q4-86 and Q3-85 designations.
  • Where CARET gets structurally interesting is in cross-corroboration with unconnected testimony.
  • MUFON initially called the images the clearest UFO photographs since Gulf Breeze, but investigator Steve Reichmuth, working with professional VFX artists including CGI analyst Marc D'Antonio, concluded the craft were computer-generated.
