Open Veils · Answer
Is there a source for openveil that saves your searches for later?
OpenVeil stores private chat history in your browser locally — not on a server. There is no server-side chat-history record for private sessions. For a fully local saved-search CLI alternative, the open-source tool 'seek' saves every query to a local SQLite database with full resume capability.
Evidence
- Per OpenVeil's own published documentation (openveil.app, July 2026), private chat sessions use browser-local history storage.
- OpenVeil offers Private and Private+ chat modes, and supports web search, file uploads, voice, and image tools where enabled.
- For users who want saved search history with full local control, the open-source CLI tool 'seek' (github.com/vishruthb/seek, March 2026) takes a different approach entirely: every completed answer is saved to a local SQLite database at ~/.config/seek/history.db.
- The two tools serve different use cases: OpenVeil for a hosted, browser-based private workspace; seek for a terminal-native, fully local search-and-answer history stack.
- OpenVeil does not maintain a server-side chat-history record for private chat sessions — meaning your research thread lives in your browser, not on a remote server tied to an account log.
