Was AAWSAP a ufo program?
AAWSAP was a $22 million DIA contract that functioned as a UFO investigation in practice, even if its official paperwork never used that word. The contractor BAASS, run by Robert Bigelow, explicitly described its mission as investigating UAPs and seeking contact with anomalous craft. The DIA's own documents and BAASS's deliverables tell two different stories — and both are now in the public record.
Evidence
- The DIA's seven contract documents — reviewed in full per watchthestars.co.uk (October 2026) — never once use the words UFO, UAP, anomalous, paranormal, or Skinwalker.
- However, BAASS's own deliverables — released in the Pentagon's seventh UFO file drop and confirmed in October 2026 — tell a starkly different story.
- Former DIA program manager James Lacatski, who authored the book 'Skinwalkers at the Pentagon' with Colm Kelleher and George Knapp, has testified that AAWSAP was the formally contracted program and that AATIP — the name the New York Times made famous in 2017 — was a subordinate or parallel effort.
- Luis Elizondo, who ran what was called AATIP, has maintained the program investigated genuine UAP encounters.
- The statement of objectives speaks exclusively of 'advanced aerospace weapon system applications' and a 'foreign threat' horizon to 2050.
