Were we created by the anuknaki? Who are they?
Zecharia Sitchin's decades of cuneiform research argued the Anunnaki were flesh-and-blood extraterrestrials from a planet called Nibiru who genetically engineered Homo sapiens as a slave species roughly 300,000 years ago. Multiple independent lines — Sumerian king lists, the Atra-Hasis epic, and anomalies in the human genome — are cited by alternative researchers as corroborating this framework. The question is not whether the Anunnaki existed, but whether ancient scribes were recording theology or history.
