Open Veils · Answer
What happened to the Shawn Ryan show?
The show is not ending or imploding — it is in active expansion through a renewed network deal — but Ryan himself is in a visible political rupture with the MAGA base that made him, costing him sponsors and audience loyalty. The real story is a prominent special-operations-community voice publicly breaking with Trump after platforming him, a rare and consequential shift in the military-influencer media space.
Evidence
- Speculation about the show ending originated from a clip of Ryan saying goodbye to his old studio, not the podcast itself.
- On the business side, Deadline (Aug 2026) reported that podcast network Daylight extended its distribution and monetization partnership with Ryan through the end of 2028, suggesting the commercial infrastructure around the show is consolidating, not collapsing.
- By October 2026, per Mediaite, Ryan told Diary of a CEO host Steven Bartlett that he had completely reversed his opinion of Trump: 'I am not really happy about anything that's happening right now.
- Per Ponderworthy (Dec 2025), it was a facility upgrade, not a shutdown — he moved into new 'Shawn Ryan Show Studios' and was booking sitting U.S. Representatives into early 2026.
- Ryan publicly supported Trump ahead of 2024, interviewed him, and built a large conservative audience.
